The Struggle Bus Organization
As the Events and Social Media intern, I worked on social media graphics for Instagram, and flyers to engage community members and encourage them to support this organization. Some graphics were specific to certain events, and others focused on donations and general support.

As a way to say “thanks” to community members, donors and volunteers, this post includes pictures recapping events that occurred over the semester. Additionally, having a recap was a way to close out the semester and solidify the pause on events this organization would take in the summer.
This event, held by the university, takes place halfway through the semester as a way for students to celebrate their progress so far. To emphasize this organization’s presence, it was important to market the event to both JMU students and local Harrisonburg community members.

In addition to a volunteer recruitment announcement, this post was aimed for those who signed up to join the organization and needed next steps. Adding in some informational posts gave the page variety and was an efficient way to make an announcement.
The main goal of this post was to carry out the organization’s main goal: mental health awareness. In addition to announcing events, Instagram was used as a way to further the organization’s values and goals.
